Hooper’s Store is in Emerald, Queensland. Built in 1963, is has been a place of evolving service and value for the people of Emerald.
Beginning as the first “Self Service” store outside the Brisbane metropolitan area, then expanding in size three times in the following decades, Hooper’s has been a mainstay in the commercial and community life of the region.
We can cover the interesting history of the store and the Hooper family in another place – the main thing now is to just let you know that our current mission is to deliver an increasing level of value to our supporters. In a world now dominated by globally sized retailers – we aim to generate your appreciation as a place where you can trust to “look after you as well as we can”.
How? Apart from the fifty plus years of experience, our current team has a strong background in science, maths and systems. It sounds a bit odd – but it is through our scientific training and knowledge that we can offer first better information about products, and then better economics (and pricing) for you.
Think about the last time you actually read the label on your cleaning products for example. Pick your laundry liquid or powder for now. We “grew up” using the Brand names like OMO, Surf, Radiant, Spree and so on. Have you read the box, or perused the websites to learn which was best for you?
Like us, you mostly did “not have time” for such activity. Well, in our current phase – we have made the time. And because of our big pile of university degrees (science and business) , we were able to makes sense of the ingredients. Then we were able to rank ingredients based on their effect, safety, gentleness and cost. We measured the activity levels and dilutions of the brand name laundry products – and we ranked them.
Better than that – we created our own versions of laundry products, and then manufactured them. Because we understand the economics we can now offer you a ranges of products that we believe are far better in effectiveness and in value. Plus we are very proud to deliver Australian made products when we can.
Over the next years, you will find an increasing range of the best products we can create, at pricing better than you will get for “almost as good” products from global multinationals. They are not “generics” with less power or using cheaper ingredients like many now available from the “mega” Australian supermarkets. Hooper’s Store brand products are better – or we don’t make them at all.
And not only will be supply you with these products – we will do our very best to educate you on what to look for in your choice of products that you use almost everyday. A simple understanding will give you a lot of power to make better choices – no matter where you are.
